2 schoolteachers die in Samastipur accident
Patna: Two schoolteachers, including a woman, were killed on the spot following a collision between an autorickshaw and a truck in Samastipur district on Monday. Four other people, including three women teachers, were injured and rushed to hospital with the assistance of locals and police. The truck driver fled after stopping the vehicle a short distance away.
The deceased woman teacher was identified as Kamini Devi (32), wife of Ranjit Kumar, from Kalyanpur village in the Mohiuddin Nagar police station area. She was posted at a primary school in Ujiarpur. The other deceased, Amarendra Mahto (43), hailed from Binagama village and was posted at the Govt Middle School in Ujiarpur. He died during treatment at hospital. All the victims were travelling from Vidyapati Nagar to Dalsinghsarai for work.
"A collision occurred between a truck and a tempo near Madheypur village in the Dalsinghsarai police station area. In the incident, a female teacher and a male teacher travelling in the auto lost their lives, while several others were injured. The families of the victims were informed," said Dalsinghsarai SDPO, Vivek Kumar Sharma.
